Dr. Aron Method Update: *Spoiler Alert* I Stopped Using The Meds

On April 1st, the year of our Lord 2019, I stopped using my eczema medication. In the last few updates I talked about how the medication wasn't working as well, and I wasn't sure what I needed to do. Well after getting a stronger prescription and upping the applications per day, I still wasn't getting favorable results. It's always been my goal to heal naturally and eliminate the use of steroids, so now I'm back on track to reaching that goal.
Check out the vlog below where I go into detail about why it took me so long to return to the all natural route and the importance of putting your health first.
I've been tracking the progress of my skin since I've stopped using the medication. It's been very up and down so far, but lately I've been consistently flaky. You can see the progress below. I've also added some links for more information about the products and people I talked about in the update.

Hi Lauren, I recently came across your videos re: TSW. Just wanted to say thank you for making those videos, thanks also for posting all the pics of your skin. It really is extremely helpful for those going through TSW. My 11 year old son is currently having TSW. We are being very patient with this.. I wanted to ask if you know, do all people suffer from TSW who have taken steroids for eczema ? I believe my son is in month 7 now.. I wonder how long it will last.
We are of Indian ethnicity so we have brown skin. I see from the few brown/darker skinned people going thru TSW on YouTube/google, that the skin tends to look very similar to each other. The patchy darkening/thickening/loss of pigmentation/bumpy skin..
Have you seen the website ITSAN for TSW?
Also, I came across another girl on YouTube called Zainab Danjuma who talks about her TSW journey. She says that diet does not affect TSW. Not sure how accurate this is...
Anyway, just wanted to write a thank you note for all the work you do in making videos with all the small details and for also posting pictures so that we, who are in the same boat, can also see.
Warm regards, yk

Hello YK,

I'm so sorry that your son is going through this and I'm glad my videos, as well as other YouTubers and bloggers, have been helpful for you. Not everyone who uses topical steroids goes through TSW. I think it depends on how long and how often you've used the steroids. I've been using them my whole life, so I'm not surprised I'm going through this. I'm also familiar with the ITSAN site. I found it through someone else's blog when I finally figured out what was going on with me.

I've seen Zainab's videos and briefly connected with her online. I believe diet has a huge impact on the skin. There are some people who go through TSW and don't change anything and eventually heal, but I had to eliminate certain foods from my diet before I even stopped using the topical steroids. From what I've seen and learned, when your immune system is so out of whack from topical steroids, it's best to go on an anti-inflammatory diet. I do no processed/cane sugar, no gluten, no dairy and I try to stay away from corn and soy. Eating whole foods and staying away from processed and fried foods is best. I hope this helps and I hope your son finds relief soon.

Take care,

Lauren

I'm Lauren, aka Just Du Pree, and I want to thank you for reading. This is a space where I share my very personal journey healing from eczema and topical steroid withdrawal (among other things), life lessons I've learned along the way, and occasionally the thoughts of an awkward Black girl (no Issa Rae). I'm a performer and filmmaker, so if you feel so inclined, pop over here to see what goes on in my mind on the regular. If you like what you see, you can stay up to date with my work here. Much love, friends!
